In 1980, Barbara Strauss began her career as a lawyer in the New York offices of the United States Department of Health & Human Services. In 1982, she took a position with the Orange County District Attorney's Office, serving as a Senior Assistant District Attorney until 1990, when she left to begin our firm.
Throughout her career, Ms. Strauss has proven herself to be a committed and passionate advocate on behalf of this firm's clients — believing strongly that individuals with legal problems need to have a voice in the process, that as an attorney you really need to listen and hear what they have to say, and that whenever they have questions or concerns — you do your absolute best to make certain you address those as promptly as you can.
She has proven herself equally committed to the profession of law and to the communities she to which she belongs. Ms. Strauss is an active member of numerous legal organizations and helps teach the intensive trial advocacy program at Yeshiva University's Cardozo School of Law and is an active and contributing member of the Goshen community. She is currently on the executive committee of the Orange County Bar Association, and has also been a former president of the bar associations of Orange and Sullivan Counties and the Women’s Bar Association.

Anna Lacarbonara is an experienced legal secretary and a real estate and estate planning paralegal with more than 25 years of experience. Ms. Lacarbonara has been with the Law Office of Barbara J. Strauss for the past 8 years.
Lisa Rolff has been with the firm for over 9 years now and is also a legal secretary and a paralegal. She has experience in many areas, including special education and adoption law. Ms. Rolff also serves as our firm's business manager.
Jennifer Jimenez Lopez is a legal secretary who has been with us now for nearly 3 years. Ms. Lopez speaks fluent Spanish and enables our firm to serve this important community better.
Elisa Piscitelli is also an experienced legal secretary and a graduate of Franklin Pierce College. Ms. Piscitelli is also a very active member of her communities.
